I noticed in the unpacking pictures posted that the camera doesnt have protective covers for the connectors. Is that the case or were they just not attached?

No there was no case or cover for the connectors.

I'd have them custom made or improvise a nice solution if that's the case. Those holes can gather a lot of dust in no time.

Mike, did they supply adapters for the mini BNC connectors and mini XLR's?

covers for connectors are overrated. I have been shooting professionally
for 20 years and have never had covers for any bnc or xlr input without problem. I have nothing against them, if you want to cover them go ahead,
it just not required

I'm with Phaz on this. If the environment is dirty enough to require BNC XLR Lemo covers then probably you should bag the whole camera anyway.

I'll answer for Mike as he is in the air on the way home. He was able to get mini BNC to BNC adapters from RED. This was good because we tried all of the connector supply houses we could figure in LA and no one had mini BNC connectors and mostly said they had not heard of them.
At one point Mike was standing at PacRadio and I sms'd him every part number I could find on the illustration. He left with Mini XLR's only.
So while the small connectors are understood for size/weight it seems the suppliers will need to catch up and until then I would suggest getting spares in advance of everything.

The ones we had terminated in a normal size bnc of the other sex, I think assuming most cables would have that connector on it.

I'm not worried about the mini bnc, I'm worried about the firewire and hdmi in/out puts. Is Red or someone planning on a solution? Thanks.

Well at least if some third party made them - they know that they'll sell a lot.
