OK,
I am under more NDA's than Tom Cruise's assistant BUTT,
I can say that we made cinematic history today in a way that was unbelievable and will hit the trades in the coming days of Red news ahead... all made possible by a visionary, a very talented DP and a little black aluminum box known as Redone. More than 6 months of planning and preparation by Gibby and I with our production partners came together today flawlessly.
Listen, I was in a screening room today after the 12 hour shoot with a 30+ year industry veteran that is totally camera agnostic, you've seen his work, that after the screening looked at me and said, "You realize this changes EVERYTHING."
Special thanks to all the crew, contributors and talent, you know who you are, that worked in the 107 degree heat today to make this "proof of concept" happen. Also big thanks to the RED team that took all our calls today, including the big guy, to answer any and all questions - way more about advanced learning curves for the user than anything about the cameras' capabilities (if this is the "limited function" version of the cameras then the Redteam are geniuses).
Gibby and #8 are on the road again at present. Wish I could say more now other than OMG did you see that? I expect we will share the breakthrough in the coming weeks and announce our "Coming Soon" digital feature shot on Red with this cool technology but for now this weekend is all about the initial release of Redone (#26-50 you guys are gonna' be stoked next week).
And no, there are no frame grabs, bit torrent files or mirrored Red files to post - internet technology today just does not do justice to today's accomplishments (Joost may have a solution we are exploring).

Sharkguy, you tease!
Just took a page from the Jannard Marketing manual. No teasing, we will deliver just not this week.

I too have made and am making cinematic history with my RED #411... those in the industry that have seen my footage (er, what I've described to them that I want to shoot, anyway) have been BLOWN AWAY by the breathtaking nature of the scope of my vision and the awards I will be lining up from the footage that I think I can shoot will catch people with 120 years in the industry (12 young people, each with 10 years watching TV, and THAT'S a roster of experts, in my book) by surprise and have already left them and many other respected individuals stunned and somewhat mute (NOT just wordless... but MUTE!!).
I'm shooting in a variety of styles (so far, the RED makes a helluva security camera in the parking garage next door) like ENG, EFM, and POMP (that's Pictures Of My Pets).
Anyway, good luck guys, but you really need to look out when I come on the scene, as I'll blow you all away with my Mad Skillz. That's what the young Peeps I hang with call their raw talent, so I've got the lingo too. By the way, "Bokeh!" to you all (I've also learned that if you say that word, you are In The Know).
Er... I really shouldn't post early in the mornings...

I wondered why there was such an eerie silence from this camp. I am sure the sleeves got rolled up and the boys got down to "bizness".
Congratulations.

How does one get to become Mr Cruise's Assistant Butt, and what's the job description?
On second thoughts, I probably don't want to know.

The topic is rumors and gossip.
So yeah - since Tom Cruise most certainly has a head Butt assistant and everyone knows it we've probably drifted off topic.

Whew! I haven't posted since last Thursday. I've been tubed with fun stuff: picking up #8 at RED on Friday, then a full day of shakedown and testing on Saturday. I've been on the road ever since. I haven’t forgot about ya!
I'm breathless...with a big smile on my face! Receiving #8, lenses, and accessories on Friday was a pure rush. Spending some quality time Friday with RED Team and the other people receiving cameras was something I'll long remember...simultaneously like family and business in a cohesive synergy. I'll say this: RED really cares about everyone. I'll also say this: it was way cool to hang out with the other guys receiving REDs last Friday. They are some seriously cool and dedicated people.
Corben summarized what we can say about our early RED testing. We're under NDA right now. As soon as we can we'll release some pics and descriptions of what we're into. I can say this: on Saturday we pushed some RED cameras into a paradigm that is on the very edge of their aesthetic and technical performance envelope. For first pass, out of the box testing, our crew of seasoned directors, DPs, technicians, and editors were stunned by the breadth and quality of the results - beyond what we had even hoped for. To be clear, our work had nothing to do with LART - this was a GibCor project in association with a specific alliance company of ours that we'll name/describe at some point in the near future. No, we haven't "splashed" a RED in a housing yet - that will come very soon - and the testing we did Saturday had nothing to do with underwater production. When we do reveal the technology and production values of what GibCor and our partner company are teaming up to pull off, I think it will bring big smiles to many of our friends here on RED User and beyond - and frowns to our competition in that particular workspace.
We'll tell you more as soon as we can (NDA). Over the many months since RED was announced I've gone out of my way to share quite freely with everyone here. That won't and hasn't changed. I'll continue to share everything I can - when I can.
My congratulations go out to Blair on his testing of #19 with Evin, Brook, Tony, Scott, and all they guys. Thanks for stepping up for everyone on that. Love the pics on Brook's site - they speak reams about the coolness of a bunch of guys getting together around a new camera system! That's what RED is all about - we all share the curiosity and excitement to put RED One in motion out in the industry.
My kudos also go out to Offhollywood and their crew who hit the ground running with #6 & 7. I knew they would - and remember they launched into that after flying all night on a flight back to New York. I love the pics of their crew in action - when all is said and done, RED was made to be taken to the streets/onto the set/on location and used in a myriad of ways by free-thinking visionaries. You're nailing it guys - my kudos to Mark and his crew.
Some details from GibCor's efforts will be posted when we can. Until then, trust us - we're guessing that what we're doing will give you a pleasant whiplash and a big smile when we unwrap it for you.
RED One has now been unleashed upon the motion media industry. RED Team has put the tools in our hands. Now it's up to all of us to push it to its supposed limits - and beyond. We're doing our part, and we're sure you will too when you get the opportunity. Until then, enjoy it vicariously through those of us who are somehow fortunate enough to get that chance. Your time will come - until then we'll help you all we can (and when we can) with our impressions of RED.
More soon...

Thanks Steve,
I knew you guys would be up to something big. make sure you guys have a good supply of bandaids. Shooting out there "on the bleeding edge" can be very dangerous. :)
We look forward to stories of your exploits.

Great question and I am as anxious as everyone else to see the info here on reduser. I'd say the LA screening will be 7-10 days after genlock is enabled this month in the Redone cameras in order to eliminate the multi-camera phase issues. The cameras out of the box came with exceedingly high tolerances for the Mysterium placement. This was a pleasant surprise since it is not always so with other production cameras.
GibCor will of course post here before you see the details and info anywhere else. That is our commitment to the reduser community.
