Hello
Its been a bad week for me. And today just made it worse. I wasn't paying attention and mounted my RED 18-50 lens improperly into the camera. Even with the lens lock fully open, i cannot remove the lens, its too far to the left of the mount... unfortantely here in nairobi, kenya there are limited service options. Does anyone have any suggestions on what i should do or try?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers. Nathan

Underneath one of the ears of the PL mount is a set screw that keeps the mount from rotating too far. If you remove the ear, then you can loosen the set screw and rotate the mount until the lens comes off.
Then you just have to reset everything so that it locks tightly again.

I've done that before, scary as Hell! Follow Tim's advice, it will work out and your camera/lens will be fine.

What ever get in can get out. You just need to find the right position while opening the PL mount lock and pull out the lens. Don't need to unscrew anything.

Safer to follow Tim's advice. The ear that needs to come off has a small concave dimple on the front face of the PL lock ring next to it.

Thanks guys. I've found the one... its a tiny little third hole. Don't have an allen key that fits so as soon as fine one, i should be good.
cheers.

The two screws holding on the ear are 2mm hex, and the grub screw is 1.5mm hex.
