Thought this article was pretty neat, talks about how avian vision developed as opposed to mammalian vision, and how bird's have 5 types of cones (R,G,B, Violet, and a double-cone that they think is for enhanced motion sensing abilities), as opposed to just R,G,B for humans.

All those cones and enhanced motion sensing abilities, and yet we still have chicken noodle soup.

There may be a metaphor in here somewhere.
