We're producing our first DVD and are getting the DVD case "slick" printed. We currently have an ISBN barcode, but I've just become aware of EAN/IAN ("European Article Number", but now renamed ”International Article Number”).
Does anyone know what is the convention: should we have EAN/IAN instead of an ISBN for the DVD; or possibly both?
Also, a book will accompany the DVD in a box set. We want to give the box its own barcode (in case we sell the book and/or DVD separately). Should the box have an ISBN or EAN/IAN barcode or both?
