I'm not qualified to speak for Red, but I think they are principally a cinema and motion photography company as opposed to DSLR, hence the name, Red Digital Cinema Company, but hey, you never know!

There was talk of this at some stage, but for the life of me I can't find the links now...

Lots of speculation on the "Professional Pocket Camera" I keep hearing Ted correct people whenever the interviewer would call it anything but a PPC. I guess it depends on how you define "pocket" I can't see them doing a straight DSLR so it seems more likely that this will have cinema capability. So the question I have is how small can you make a Pro Level camera with video that will fit in your... [coat or photovest] pocket? What's the market? ....my guess would be action photography but could also be used for some photo journalism where it was not possible or feasible to bring the Red One and all the backend gear.
Bigger still is the question of censor and lens!
The threads are a fun read and informative; much more to learn!!

I think the mini red may become a cross cam between DSLR and video
PS
It bugs me more and more calling RED video...
