I was wondering if anyone with the MX upgrade would care to share their experiences using it at the extreme ends of operation. In other words for higher speed shots at 2K and also for time lapse.

Is the image significantly better than the original Mysterium sensor at 2K and is the new MX sensor less prone to "Hot Pixel" issues with extended exposures during time lapse?

I apologise of this has been discussed elsewhere. Please point me at it.

It just did a little test when I got home today with my new MX RED and set it to 1/2 second exposures at 1fps and there's still hot pixels. I'll try and post some stills and footage later tonight.

Andrew, have you done black shading AFTER changing the shutter speed?

No I haven't. I'll have to give that a try to see if it helps.

Apparently this is why. Try and let us know.

Andrew,

Thanks for taking the time to test. I will be interested to know if the black shading gets rid of the hot pixels. It certainly improves them on my R1 mysterium but never gets rid of them. Quite good for space shots as you get free stars!

Have you tried 2K at 100fps or higher yet?
