I only have $100 a day (:angry2: I know, I know) but were shooting a music video and basically making it a slightly subsidised Red test. If you're interested and have real experience pulling focus on 35mm drop me a PM.

I'd be happy to come help you out Evin - but $100 would get me about 1/3 of the way out, and I'd have to hitch back!!

Plus, I've run out of crack...

Good luck with the hunt though mate...

I'm short on 1st AC experience, but loaded on Crack. Plus you did mention the attention getter-

basically making it a slightly subsidised Red test.

Sincerely,

Free on Monday

Damn it, I wish I were a good enough AC-I'd pay my own flight fare to do it. Oh well. And I'd bring some Harlem crack for everyone..hahaha

Ain't this gunna be the new delima: Beautiful 4K images that are out of focus because the cameras out number the good focus pullers by 10:1. Or maybe, we'll get a rash of new indie films where the actors don't move, at all, being careful not to lean forward or back in their chairs.

But hopefully we'll see a spike in the number of people who have focus pulling skills in the coming years.

The cool thing about owning the camera is you can practice pulling focus 10 hours a day until you get it. Or realize you can't do it. Hopefully Graeme's focus assist will be revolutionary too.

I still havent' heard anything about "Magic focus". Any reports so far? Is it even enabled?

I spoke to Graeme yesterday. He said that the software design for the Magic focus is all totally sorted but the coding is not complete. Magic focus is considered to be in the "bells and whistles" realm and as such has a much lower priority than many other aspects of the camera.

There are plenty of pullers out there just waiting for their turn to be an operator.
