I'm curious about how the viewfinder histogram function works. I know that for example, on the Canon 5D DSLR the histogram lies to you, as explained here: http://www.brisk.org.uk/photog/histo1.html
(briefly, the in-camera histogram on the 5D subsamples the images, so small blown highlights are completely missed. Surprisingly, the Canon software on a PC does this as well! However photoshop does it right, counting all pixels.)
Hopefully my worries on this score are needless, and Red has done it right :-).
