Hello All,
I'd like to start putting my RED experience and equipment to better use. The services i'd like to offer are transcoding, dailies, and duplication of RED media, as well as FCP project prep and chroma keying, and for clients who may have done an offline edit but need more horsepower to render the final product, conforming for output to QT or DPX up to full resolution.
Basically, i'd like to be a RED assistant editor on my own equipment, simplifying life for producers and DP's who have editors in mind but don't want to hand the raw project off to a busy (and expensive) professional. Hopefully this will also lead to some editing gigs.
I work on an '09 8-core Mac Pro, with 4tb of RAID disks and 12GB RAM, and have RED post experience. If this works out I am happy to further upgrade my edit suite. In the near future I plan to pick up an IO card for 2k and HD/SD broadcast monitoring. I'm located in Brooklyn but will pick up/drop off anywhere in Manhattan or Brooklyn
Even if you're not interested in my service, I'm very interested to know what you guys recommend for day/week rates. I'm new to freelancing and don't want to over-vaule or under-value my services. Please shoot me a PM or feel free to reply in this thread.
