shooting MX post wants RS color and red space gamma?

Hi,

I am on a shoot with the new MX sensor in a red. I am doing the dailies. Post says they want red space color space and red space gamma. I do not think they are aware that this camera no longer shoots red space(right?).

This will affect how there footage looks. Anybody using the new sensor yet and played around with these color spaces? I would assume the best way to post these files would be to use RED color and REd gamma (right?)

If their post workflow hasn't been updated for new color science it doesn't really matter as they wont be able to work with the footage. That should be the first detail discussed.

Although they're still post-tool options, I'd strongly suggest they not be used. REDColor/REDGamma is almost infinitely a better choice. Go talk to the post place again.

Hi,

just wondering why I should be concerned about their post workflow as I will be giving them quicktimes that all quicktime applications will understand (pro res 422HQ). It is no longer a red based workflow for off line at that point. Right?
