A client has asked me if this would work. Transfer to prores using Rocket, drag and drop into bin in FCP (or Log and transfer using Rocket) - then use clipfinder or cinema tools to link original r3ds, then send to Color.

I can't seem to make it work. Anyone?

Transcode all files with Clipfinder (using flight director with rocketcineX) or rocketcineX or redcineX.
Import the folder into FCP.
Edit, when finished export an XML from FCP
Open Clipfinder choose File>Import Clips from FCP XML
Clipfinder>Tools>Replace MOV with R3D
Clipfinder>Tools>Run conform on FCP XML file
In the conform settings window in the XML input put the path to the XML previously exported from FCP, in the output XML choose a name and file path.
Check "replace clips with (choose M or H proxy) in clip directories put the path to the folder with the R3D files. Hit run conform.
Open or Import the new XML (output XML generated by Clipfinder) in FCP.
Send to Color.
P.S. If you have the looping bug in Color use "fix looping bug.." in Clipfinder's tools.

You can also use cinema tools , drop all your R3d files into cinema tools , create a database, export to pro res for offline edit , export an xml from FCP , import into cinema tools , reconform and export xml back into FCP

is there a way to edit with the 1K proxies in FCP and then relink to the 2K or 4K proxies and then send to COLOR? Seems like this should be possible.
