View Full Version : Red Rocket Won't play with Redcine-x build 158

Trying to take 4K HD, RC36 and output to 1080p Pro Res 422 LT files. I am doing this simultaneously on a Red Rocket Mobile, and that machine is having no trouble.
What should I do to get the card to play with Redcine-x? It shows up in the system profile. The Rocket icon is orange in Redcine-x, but when it tries to render a clip i takes 10+ minutes, like it's bypassing the card. I think the card was damaged during shipping as well. It's strange that it shows up, but it's not following through.
I need a solution asap. I'm in LA near LAX, on a show til tuesday (3/23/10).
Can anyone help me out with a new card?

Do you have the latest firmware installed on the card? Does playback work OK?
What storage media are you writing your files to? You're probably running into a bandwidth issue. Rendering from a mobile rocket isn't all that ideal, it's more of an on-set playback and look tool.
Edit > oops, I misread your first post and thought you were having trouble with the mobile Rocket. Glad you got it sorted. :)

Email me the log files and file a support ticket also.
A couple of things aren't clear:
Do you have two machines and one is working ok?
How long is the clip you're rendering and are you doing other things while it's rendering?

Esata Connection. I've also tried exporting to the system drive, which is a pretty fast raid. I don't think it's bandwidth. Playback isn't the slightest bit impressive. Very choppy and takes a while to load.
The Rocket card is installed in the 16x pci slot as well...
I just tried reinstalling the drivers, I will try the firmware if that doesn't work.

After reinstalling the drivers, the card is back to transcoding again, but it's taking 14 minutes to render out a clip that is only 769 frames. Seems like it's not using the card at all, huh?

I have a separate red rocket mobile system working, and I need this mac pro system to work, since it's a 3 camera shoot. I will send you a log file as soon as I can.

Try switching slots.
What else do you have in the macpro?

Turn on verbose logging and email me the log files.
But first try switching slots.

@Jarred: LOL, I hide signatures when I post, so I totally forgot about that. That's really funny.

Glad to hear you're back up and running, Jamie.
Where'd did you get build158 from? I must be blind. [Edit: not blind, just not paying attention...I'll try build 158 and see if anything changes]
Your problem sounds exactly like mine(despite different configurations and computers), plus there is only 2 cameras on this shoot, and one REDrocket.

Jamie's problem was a component that broke off the card in shipping.
