Working with REDCINE_X I've came to the conclusion that a few scripts in my workflow would certainly make my life easier and naturally speed things up. I'm looking to TRY and build some myself but not being an expert on the subject i thought I'd see what out there.

Here is a great one from fellow reduser Mikael Lubtchansky: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42154
a EDL TO REDCINE-X Applescript (beta)

What else is out there?

Thanks Noah for mentioning my EDL script

I also did an XML to RCX version that has more features than the EDL one because EDLs would not tell if a clip was speed reversed etc...
XML version will re-link your offlines to R3Ds on several drives like the EDL version but can also send whole clips with in/out to bin, add handles, supports retimed footage in Avid / FCP ec...

They are still beta and since REDCINE-X is more a dailies/best light app, the timeline will never be a full conform tool (only 1 video track, no fades, no retiming support, no external audio, no secondaries grading, supports only R3D files, will overwrite same clip segments if used twice while exporting anything but the whole timeline...). Things may change but right now sending edits back to RCX is fun, but doesn't offer anything close to a scratch, a pablo or any other real finishing tools.

While my scripts may not produce a real robust usable "workflow" it's still nice to do be able to do a quick edit, send to RCX, re-grade from the timeline (and play realtime if you a rocket) then output either DPX clips or a graded quicktime from the timeline you could re-import in your editing software, add audio and effects etc... ClipFinder 2.5 can do all this, and much more while offering more robust re-conform tools back to FCP/Avid...

Anyway... I'll try to update the scripts if someone runs into any issue with the demo or full version and will keep adding features whenever possible (time permitting as this is not my primary job (starting a feature on MX next week as DIT/AC). I was thinking of maybe doing an XML2AEX version that could send your edit to aftereffects while relinking offlines to 4K R3Ds like my REDCINE-X script do, but that's beyond the initial thread subject....
