New R1 with MX?

Sorry if this has been asked before, search didn't find anything.

Will it be possible any time soon to buy a new R1 that comes with the MX upgrade (obviously I would pay the extra for the new chip)?

I am keen to buy an R1 and get shooting while I wait for the new cameras.... but, as I live in Europe, I don't wont the hassle of buying a new R1, then having to send it back when an MX chip is ready.

I'm not looking to jump the queue or anything... just wondering if this will become an option anytime soon.

It's said that they won't offer any new R1's with the MX chip until all existing R1 owners have been offered the MX upgrade...considering they're still under #1000 and there's over 7000 owners, the option you're talking about could be a ways off.

Your best bet will be trying to buy a lower serial number (there have been a few up for sale lately) where the owner will help facilitate the MX upgrade...

...or you can buy a brand new R1 with full warranty and upgrade to an Epic when that time comes.

I have toyed with the idea of buying 2nd hand. But prefer new products that are registered with our business... rather than having to wait until the upgrade is done before being able to transfer ownership.

Looks like I am gonna have to sit tight and wait for Epic like everyone else.
