Great to see the pieces Ala-Carte at last.
Am I just missing it? Can't find these??
1. The step down to 15mm rods is there but not the step down to 60mm 15m light weight support? for Chrozeil/Petroff etc.
2. The CF card is there but not the price for the adapter to allow its use?
Are there other desired parts not shown?

Hi TJ,
Is there a 15mm standard other than 15/60?? I thought that was the only one...
I'm sure the CF module will still be $500 (Jim's stated as much very recently), but agree it would be good to have it (and the other SSD options) listed - I imagine that there's a good reason they're not there though, like changes are still taking place or something similar.
Can't think of much that's not listed other than those - RedRAM, which was mentioned in another thread, and maybe some other bar lengths would be handy... Oh, and a sunshade for the LCD screen, if one exists/is planned.

Yes the CF Module is still $500. We have 12 in., 18in., and 24in. rods available. I'm sure more updates will be posted to the store soon.
As for the sunshade, it really isn't necessary in most situations. Our LCD is amazingly visible in bright-light situations.

I love the store too. I hope you add some descriptions to some of the parts.
For example, I'm not sure - but is there a way to mount the RED Battery without using the RED Cradle with an empty hard drive slot?
Can the Battery plate mount directly to the camera somehow?
Also, is that a battery plate that I see on the Cradle?
What's a Red quick plate?
Do you need a bottom plate? or can RED just attach to a tripod directly without rails, etc.
A FEW SUGGESTIONS:
1. Have the Battery plate mount directly to the camera or rails.
2. Create a RED Cradle (drive only) the mounts underneath the camera.
3. Create a battery mount that also mounts underneath the camera, in front of the red drive - maybe side by side - so the camera keeps a low profile.
4. A retractable / foldable camera handle that lays flat against the top of the camera - such that the camera is not taller the 7 inches and can fit into a backpack.

Like I was saying more updates to come. To try and clearify- You can mount your battery via RED Cradle, RED Quickplate (no drive space), there's also another option availble that is going to make life much easier for the run and gun/ENG crowd-but you'll have to stay posted for that one.
The beauty about the rail/cage system that RED One's possess is the amount of options you have available when configuring your set-up. Most will be very suprised in all the different positions you can mount your power, monitoring options, ect.

So, I was standing right next to Red #007 when this photo was taken. Notice all the blackwrap on the LCD? You need a sunshade in broad daylight.

I just so happen to be coming out with my own line of high quality
sunshades.
Of course any resemblance to cardboard, tape or black wrap is completely
coincidental

Thanks for the clarifications Sean, but I have to say that I cannot believe that a sunshade is not necessary for the LCD - of course, I can always get a 3rd party one, but you really should look at making one specifically designed to mount onto the Red LCD. It's a must-have piece of kit, no matter how good the LCD panel, imo...
EDIT: OK, so I should read the whole thread before posting! The "blackwrap boogie" is exactly what I want to avoid having to do...

Hehehe. :)
I plan on using a third party sunshade but you need to find one that doesn't cover up the top casing which is where all the damn buttons are located...:waaa:

Yeah - that's why a specifically designed shade (a hard shade at that would be nice, for those windy days!) is always the best bet. I'm a big fan of the Teletest shade system, for instance.
Looks like we're on 3rd party for the Red LCD though. Never mind...
I'm starting to lean away from the Red LCD, actually, even though it looks like a great panel and is obviously a great price. Lack of HD-SDI inputs (I know this is probably one of the main reasons it can be offered at such a good price, but it makes it useful only when shooting on a Red, which is a shame) and hard sunshade are edging me toward a totally 3rd party solution at the moment, but I'll have to see nearer the time which way I fall...

Sunshade = MUST HAVE = VERY easy to make.
whoever said it's not necessary - please send me your LCD because yours must be special - IMHO - RED LCD is a tad too dark. It is AWESOME sharp - and the AC go nuts for it INSIDE - but outside without a sunshade ... good luck ...

Thanks RED,
How about getting a spokesperson besides Jim that can give us more news? I'm glad some great product that will help us is coming. I really am. However, I am trying to make decisions now and yes there are 3rd party solutions coming too. I'd rather support RED like I do Apple...
I've given lots of feedback along with others of lightweight eng RED accessories. So, if RED is working on stuff... please tell us now, show us your prototypes like the camera, get our feedback and make it at an affordable price.
We've asked for an updated store months ago... and understand you were trying to build the camera instead... but why all the new accessories with no description, and no feedback or input from us?! I love you guys.... but there is some hide and seek going on. This is giving us a bit of stress trying to configure our cameras and gear.
It's ironic Jim now likes 2 rails that are light and easy to carry... yet the photos still show 4 rails with expensive mounts on top.
I just want simple, light, affordable - with prototypes and feedback from the forum on what we really want... no more surprises in terms of new product accessories. Please... many were and are upset over the pro version package disappearing and becoming an accessory (not me).
Why does a handle with mounting brackets cost $400.00? I suggested a handlem, hard drive and battery that mounts directly to the camera without $200 mounting brackets long ago. Not only does it cost more with more parts but it weights more. Less is more in this case. Keep up the good work and please listen to us... we are your customers and we will save you money, time and effort by not over engineering stuff that we do not want like extra rails or mounting brackets or handles... I see the cage has all but disappeared from its weight and expense from real world testing.

Dominic,
15mm rods are used at 60 or 100mm center lines.

so will it be accurate to say that it would be better to wait till it's nearer your delivery date before ordering the accessories??
because i don't really want to keep changing my orders....

Greg... you are asking us to act like a real company instead of a garage operation? We need just a bit more time for that. We have been developing and changing everything for a year and a half with a small team.
Parts are cheaper if we can cast them instead of machine them. We are throwing away several hundreds of thousands of dollars of tooling BECAUSE we are listening. And we are machining parts that were scheduled to be cast.
We will update the website as we can. You will see carbon and titanium rods as soon as we can get the troops back from IBC.
We need just a bit of a break here. Relax. You are stressing me out. :-)

Okay... I have to say this...
Stop telling the man how to run his business.
We've all been invited to chime in on the technical and ergonomic aspects of the camera and accessories. And there are people on this and other forums and lists that know more about cameras and how they are used than Jim does. And he's been listening. To most of us anyway
But I would think Jim knows more about running a business than any of us. Of course the website needs to be updated. Of course the store is still a work-in-progress... But Jim doesn't need you to tell him that.
