Hey,
Talking to a very knowledgeable rental house about the Red Pro Primes they said that the focus marks were off and that the lenses could only be shimmed with custom fabricated shims because Red doesn't make shims. On the RPPs I've used the marks have been accurate, albeit regrettably close together.

Can anyone enlighten me on the shim subject? What have other rental houses done to solve this?

Also very interested in this issue and have been meaning to write RED an e-mail asking that exact same question. I'll e-mail them if they don't reply here.

Why not send back the lens that was off?

All my lenses were on when I received them. Anyways I cut my own shims if need be. Otherwise I am sure Red will be able to supply them if requested.

Does this only affect cameras that don't have adjustable mounts, like the Red does?

Hi,

I've had my local rental house shim my RPP'S (two of them) with Cooke shims.
The tech had to cut them to fit and she told me that was one solution (apart sending them to RED) since RED does not sell any branded shim.
Works for me and my RPP's are perfect now.

There are some authorized RED service centers that have stock of RED SHIMS and can facilitate lens collimation.

Sounds good. Is there a list of authorized service centers you can share with us?

Kudos to RED for using awesome stainless steel shims instead of flimsy, annoying plastic.

A list would be nice! Any located in Canada?
