How many more RedOne's will have names?
Will there be an option for us to name and for how much?

You can name your camera anything you want... we just won't have the time to engrave it. You can always do that on your own. Too hard for us to keep track and make sure there are not duplicates on our end.

Hi Eirik,

The camera I hand held was from the Apple stand.

Perhaps a sticky in off topic with names people have designated for their cameras could be made and updated by someone if Red themselves can't do it.

A wooden box. And the sensor was a test slice (not 4K). I'll post when I get some time to find the pics. It is pretty funny.

Great!!!!!!

Amazing!!!!!!!!

But IN THE FUTURE (like reservation holder and customer) I WOULD LIKE TO SEE RED PRODUCT LINE DESIGNED SOMETHING LIKE APPLE, BANG & OLUFSEN, OR LIKE ARMANI, THOM BROWNE, GUCCI, J.P. GAULTIER, PRADA, JOHN GALLIANO, ECT. whatever the company is taking care of a customer base (joung & successful independent market style market)..etc...

I don't have name ideas yet, haha. I did just place my second RED order today, though. Took the plunge.

Thanks for the list, Jim. Care to elaborate on the naming choices? I'm sure there are a few good stories. :)

(oh, and if any of the betas need a home, I''d be happy to accomodate.) :whistling:

Is the Bread Box what was on display at NAB 2006? The one with matte grey paint?

Toronto is not on the list of names only Montreal. Hence,

Wow, Jim! That is really cool, in a DIY geeky sort of way. I bet that could fetch a pretty penny on eBay...

Seems to me the bread box should go to the Smithsonian to it's rightful place next to the Apple-1, Steve Wozniac's similarly crude, wooden first attempt at the Apple computer. Or at least in the Hollywood Motion Picture Museum or some such place.

Wow, Jim! That is really cool, in a DIY geeky sort of way. I bet that could fetch a pretty penny on eBay... Screw eBay, a private auction would be the way to go......but then again sentimental value would refrain that from ever happening, or at least it would in my case if I were Jim.

Jim, that's freakin cool. I guess looking back at the whole process, it's easy to become jaded now that the camera is actually out in production. This reminds me how far you guys have come in a relatively short amount of time.

Very nice!

Man, that's cool. It's pics like this and stories like Oakley and RED that have recharged me to start moving forward on a company that I've been kicking around with for a couple of years. It's hard not to be inspired here or pushed to persist even when it's all stacked against you.

Thanks for sharing Jim and congratulations.

Have you come up " new names for the Serial # 26-50 ?
May be Mars or Venus if there are not so many well known countries on earth.

We only named our alpha, beta & pre-production cameras. The serial numbered customers cameras have no names (from RED, some 1-50 owners have named theirs though)

No, that was "Frankie" if I'm not mistaken...

Jim's list said that Frankie was made in the summer. And it's clear now that it's not the bread box. :)

Was it a non-operational model?
