What do you guys think/know about this lens?
I can't make out the markings. Is it Kinor, Konvas, Hawk, some sketch off-brand?
For a wide, fast PL-mount this is a great price. THoughts?

Hi,

I believe it's a LOMO lens. I've seen PL Mount Zeiss going for similar prices, albeit not usually as fast. Personally, if looking at Primes I'd try and pick up a matched set or pick up one or two that you can likely find others to build up to a complete set at a later date.

That's an EKRAN also known as MKBK. I own one, its a very good lens. A bit better than a 18mm Zeiss Super Speed, but not like an S4 or a Ultraprime.

It has Cam Focusing, and pretty good correction for barrel distortion, good edge to edge sharpness ( very important on an 18mm ) and a slightly warm color balance.

The price is OK, but not a steal. A no brainer at $1000. It might be nice to have an 18mm because the Red Prime Set seems to skip right over that important focal length.

You'll need to change the lens gear to .8 module ( arri style ) this should not be hard to do.

Hi Matt,

You seem to know a good bit about the Russian lenses. I bid on a f2.1 50-150mm zoom a while back on Ebay and didn't get it, but have always wondered about it... It was the only one I've ever seen come up.

Obviously it would have had to be converted to PL and the anamorphic adapter wouldn't have been much use on the Red. Do you happen to know anything about this model?
