Got My Mobile Red Rocket

Hi,

I have just made a test of my new Red Rocket in Red Mobile Maxx with 2,8 G MBP 17.
I tryed Redcine X build 221 and Rocket CineX1740.
It works at the first time, but I always have the 1xPCI-Ex Lane warning.

- With RocketCineX, It is not very fluid, and I don't know how to optimize the settings (wathever I choose, It is full Debayer, wright ?), but anyway better than without. For making ProRes 1080 422 HQ, it is 2 second for 1 not bad compared to time endered without.

- With Redcine X, the playback is not good enough for working

In my test, I got 2 times an error in a frame.

I have to make some tests in my Mac Pro now.

Any advice, or settings optimize from others ?

I am interested in this setup, is this the maxx digital soultion? Quick question, does the mobile rocket have another esata port for hard drive hook up as well? Cheers.

Yes, it is the Maxx solution. No other esata port.
I have made some speed test with hard drive 2,5, and what I have found is that the esata doesn't go faster than firewire800. So, I change my esata 2,5 esata HD for firewire that doesn not require a separate cable for powering.

Today, I have made the Rocket test with Aja Hi5 3G and dreamcolor monitor, and that was very interesting : on the MacbookPro screen, you are not very fluid (more than without the rocket but not 25f/sec. On the dreamcolor, it is absolutely fluid and you can grade in realtime !!

The Maxx solution is very compact and you can keep the MBP attached with it. So you just need a little flightcase like Pelicase 1550
