Hi,
Anyone out there currently shooting wanting to put up a review for us?
Bokeh? Breathing? CA? Distortion? Comparisons to other optics such as Cooke/Ang/Zeiss would be extremely grateful.
Such little has been heard about the lenses performance, yet it's been in the field for nearly two weeks.
Much appreciated

Yes, I was starting to wonder the same thing myself...
Closest we have are some musings here:

(with additional links to further musings within)
Mind you, chances are it is staring me in the face like a big pink elephant (as big pink elephants are prone to do) and I've missed it completely.
I'd threaten a hunger strike, but I've already got an apple cobbler lined up for the weekend.

"Tip #2:
Buy the 18-50mm Red Zoom. WOW!! It's TIGHT. Our Zeiss primes could not keep up. We can't WAIT for the other zoom - JIM, any new shipping estimate on the other zoom? Red glass kicks ass!!! What did you expect, right?"
me:
I'm curious about the lens data that is recorded into the metadata, is that enabled?

Hi,
Hmm, that sounds promising, but in what way could the primes not keep up? Image quality? What Zeiss primes is he comparing etc etc.
I'd like cold hard truth's if I'm honest. Even a still of a landscape through the RedZoom and then another through a Zeiss or Cooke for direct comparisons would be enough to tell me a heck of a lot.

Hi Paul...yes we could do with some better tests. Has anyone in UK got a 300 and/or the 18-50? I would be happy to get them projected and take a still of the test chart up close, edges, centre etc. Projecting doesnt tell you everything I agree (especially contrast and how it copes with flare) but gives an insight.
Certainly my impression at IBC was that breathing (which is not cheap to design out) on the 18-50mm lens will be a problem for some (me included). The build quality of the 300mm seemed much better, and I would guess made by a different company.

Hi James,
I'm not even sure if anyone has a RedOne in the UK yet, let alone the lenses!
Rory is the first to pick up as far as I know, but I dare say there are other early adopters about.

Anyone in US want to project the 300mm and 18-50mm? Say side by side with another manufacturers, and take stills of the results?
And how about some tests of the camera, possibly done in this way:

Some basic stuff at this point may be much more informative that just images (and yes I know its the images that will count in the end...but anyway much of what they look like depends on the 'grade'...)
Cheers
