I know this is going to seem like a stupid question to most, but humor me. I'm new at this.
To transfer, manipulate, "rough" edit, and copy, the digital data from a Scarlet 2/3 or a Red-One, do I absolutely have to have a Red Rocket card in my PC?
Is Red Rocket also required for Adobe CS5 to work properly?
*All I want to do with the data, once it's in the hard drive, is to copy certain scenes, put them together, reduce the quality, then transfer THAT to a DVD, to be used for reference ONLY. The original, high quality, footage, would, of course, stay in the hard drive for later use.
I am not, nor do I have any intentions, of being an editor. I will leave the REAL editing in the final production to professionals that KNOW what they are doing. What they have for their equipment is entirely up the them.
Thanks.
