I love how well the clipping in the first image rolls off. Clipping suddenly doesn't seem like the enemy...

Nice images.....wish I had photoshop to view the DPX's...maybe I'll just pull them into AE.

EDIT: Are the images still uploading, or are they just bad links?

Damn! That top image is sweet. I agree with Brook; blown out highlights that actually look good!

That one was lit with a total of 4 8' Home Depot daylight fluorescent globes through a frame of tough frost into the camera. I don't believe there was any other light in this shot. There was a lite panel set up over camera as fill, but I don't know if it was on for this take.

The shot of Roman was lit with this cool über ringlight Evin built a while ago. There are two rings of 40w practicals around the lens. The inner ring has roughly 15 globes and the outer ring has roughly 25 globes. Those lights are mounted onto a mirror and the lens sticks through the middle. Just zoom in on his eye light to see what it looks like. :)

Download and install CinePaint from http://www.cinepaint.org You can open DPX files with it, and its free for Win, Linux, OSX.

Enjoy

Feels like it's always sharper just looking at the stills. I think our eyes just take in what we need to see when the image moves. Is watching 4K different? Can you really take in this much sharpness in motion?

sorry I wasn't arround earlier. the links should work fine. whatever Evin did to them they seem to work now. You'll save yourself a lot of headache on the net if you get yourself a download manager like flashget (it can save you a ton of time). It is for firefox, but maybe there are some for Safari. I've also added the links to the index at www.freehillproductions.com/RED/ Pm me if your still having trouble.

ok, I just saw that flashget won't work for Mac, but I'm sure many here can post about their favorite download managers for Mac.

On a different note, wow Evin, those look great. Great work!

Just curious Evin(since I'm a music producer) what style of music is that video about? Reggaeton, Hip Hop, or Rock en Español?

Evin Grant

Spanish Pop. He's unsigned, the songs pretty good too and the music video is going to be slick (I hope you agree from what you've seen).

Evin I forgot to ask you what you're using for playback and Sync purposes, how are you dealing with that since the camera doesn't do audio yet?
