View Full Version : Extended: Stage 2 Deadline

Kelly

We are extending the Stage 2 order deadline until end of day on Wednesday, May 5th.

We have been receiving tons of last minute emails and phone calls with order questions and we want to make sure we have time to answer each and every one of you. Please be patient with response times since 4 of our bomb squad reps are out sick (seems like we were hit with the plague around here).

The payment date will still be June 1st - so make sure your deposit(s) are paid for by that date.

Thanks for your patience!

Kelly,

I have a question. In terms of serial numbers, will the executed serial number become the EPIC serial number?
Would my R1 be 758 executed and the EPIC number 758?

or

With EPIC are all line-ups now done?

If not

Do stage 2 folks get ahead of stage three for being early EPIC adopters?

Thanks,

I hope it's not to confusing.. :)

+ do epic stage 2 owners get first right to buy new brains/fixed scarlets or will the old r1 line be the guideline

I guess this explains why there has been no response to my reservation on the 29th. But why is the $5k pending deposit transaction in my RED Store shopping cart gone?

Nate Clapp

it means you have to do it again. first you reserve it (chose your serial # of RED that you are using) then log in again and see the 5,000 deposit in the store. if you didn't want to pay that just quite yet, DON'T navigate away and hope it will still be in the store later. it won't. if you did do that and have had no confirmation email, go back through the whole process all over again, and when you get to the store, CHOOSE WIRE TRANSFER IF YOU PLAN TO PAY WITH CREDIT CARD AT A LATER DATE. if you choose Credit card it wants a payment now, and will not save the item in your shopping cart. WIRE TRANSFER lets you get the reservation going and you can change it to credit card later as long as you get it done before JUNE 1.
I fear lots of people will suffer this problem. It's a bit tricky. The answer is here elsewhere but you gotta read 45 pages to find the kernels of info.....

Hi David,

We have not decided how we will handle "serial" numbers for Epic's. As soon as we decide, we will let you know. Keep in mind that your delivery date is much more important than your serial number.

We will deliver all Stage 2 orders before we begin delivering Stage 3. For example, someone that took delivery much later than you, but chose to do Stage 2 would get their Epic before you if you choose Stage 3. So if you want to maintain your delivery date status... it would be best to do Stage 2.

I hope this makes sense... if you need more clarification - let me know!

Thanks,
Kelly

Thanks very much Kelly.

That helps. It will be interesting to see what you guys decide.

I still have people contacting me to see if their order went through for EPIC-X. Even though this is in your "you are eligible for Stage 2 email", it bears repeating (and I added further clarifications). I do not want people thinking they are "in" when they are not:

NOTE: If you have trouble logging onto to check what cameras you have eligible for Stage 2 EPIC-X program or completing your order, some hints:
** Your login is probably the same login you use to log in to download firmware or place other orders. However, if you have multiple email addresses registered with RED, for the Stage 2 login, it will probably be the one you used when your RED ONE was ordered.
** When you login, you will see a list of all eligible cameras for Stage 2. Make sure you check the checkbox next to each one you want to execute for Stage 2 before submitting your order. Otherwise, your shopping cart will be empty.
** After you submit what cameras you want to be executed for Stage 2, you will have to log in again to access your shopping cart and complete your order.
** If you do not get an online order confirmation page and online order confirmation email after you think you completed your order, you did not go all the way through the process (ie, until the end of the checkout process of the shopping cart).
** Due to the spike in traffic on RED.com from this program, you may experience some delays in page loads or timeouts. If you timeout during the transaction or just leave the cart voluntarily, your initial deposit order might be cached in the cart. If you submit again, you will add incremental deposits to your cart. Make sure the number of stated deposits in cart matches how many cameras you are doing. If you try to check out with 2 deposits for one camera, for example, your order will never load into our reservation database. You will STILL get an online order confirmation email (because you DID complete the online order) - but it will be rejected when it tries to upload to our reservation database.
** If you want to pay for the deposit during checkout, pay via credit card. If you want to wait up until the June 1 deadline to pay, please select wire transfer. If you end up wanting to pay via credit card after completing an order with a wire method of payment, just contact your BOMB SQUAD rep.

If you still have login questions - or stage 2 questions in general - please contact your BOMB SQUAD rep.

I hope that helps. And I ask that you do not wait until the last second (Wed) to email/contact us with questions. As Kelly the pinata said, we don't want questions in queue at the end of the day Wed.

End of day where we(RED) are - Pacific time. We all turn into pumpkins at midnight.

Thanks for extending an already extremely generous offer. Helped me to make the jump.

Does the date have anything to do with today being exactly 05 years since 05-05-05?
