View Full Version : Deadline?

I need one question for someone who know....
We are (my company) the reservation holder for your RED ONE camera (#260), and as the delivery date approaches we would like to finalize our order.
We would like to make the accessories reservation at RED web site (Store), but we need a clarification regarding the actual payment procedure at the check out – do we have to pay just the 10% deposit at the check out or the entire amount (overall price)? . Is this 10% deposit for accessories applicable to the “old” reservation holders or new reservation holders only?
Is there any deadline for us by which we have to finalize the order? So far we have not received any official notification on deadlines for the payment of the camera or accessories.
Some discussions at your Forum seem to refer to a mandatory reservation for the camera accessories, which is a bit confusing. :umm:
Thank you.

For anything you reserve you have to pay 10% right away.
Then 30 days before scheduled delivery of the camera and accessories you will have to pay 100% for everything that you reserved and is scheduled to be delivered.
If you select any accessories that are in stock 30 days or less before you want to have it delivered you have to pay 100%
No deadline but it will help RED to plan the deliveries if you commit to accessories/options ASAP, otherwise you are risking to have some delay on deliveries of some accessories if you place the order in the last moment and the people that reserved have priority for delivery.
It is from my experience and the information that I got from Kelly.

Have you tried contacting RED directly? That should get you immediate answers.

my experience is, when you get to HQ, it is like the TV show "Wheel of Fortune". you have a credit from your reservation deposits and you go to the counter and shop for your accessories in the order of your reservation. once you are done, you go to the check out and they calculate the balance due, i.e new purchases, less deposits and then you owe them the balance...that is they way it worked for us, but there were only about 7 of us there, so not sure how it will work for 50?

I would love to come to the HQ, unfotunately it will be impossible.
About ordering accessories, I would wait till the last minutes (as advised by Jim). Personnaly I have already ordered some acccessories like the Premium prod pack, and a few RED-DRIVE, but I think I will be able to switch to whatever I prefer when the camera ship.

So,
should I wait or not?
I sent the same question to RED contact mail, but received no answer!
Again, should I make a reservation for accessories only or for camera too? (because I'm #260)
thx
ps: I don't plan to go to the HQ !!

Anything you order from here on out-accessories, lenses, ect. will need an additional 10% deposit placed on them. We suggest that you reserve your accessories a.s.a.p. especially if your camera is shipping soon-to give us adequate time to reserve the available items so they are ready to ship with your camera. You will be contacted within 30 days of your shipment date to secure full payment on all items that are ready to ship.
I hope this cleared up most of your concerns. If you need further assistance you can always contact me at: ruggeri@red.com
I don't understand why your previous attempts at contacting us were uneventful, however if you send anything to the above address you will get a response from me.

Thanks Sean!
Only one thing about RED web Store procedure: Should I make a reservation for accessories only or for camera too (just skip camera in store basket)?
(because I'm already r. holder #260)
thanks

If you have S/N for RED it mean that you already reserved and paid $1000
So reserve accessories only. (skip camera)

Don't include a camera when you order your accessories, unless you want a second one !
Cheers,
Damien
PS Sorry, I was slow...
