Absolutely!
Taking consideration that additional lighting set ups will be needed as to create volume, depth and separation of subjects from background and foreground, more so then in color, as color acts as separator and creates more of an illusion of S3D then B&W images, especially when playing with warmer and cooler color as to present one vision, color brings a lot to a story, but I love B&W and in fact a good section of "Chronicles of Perseverance" in S3D will be in B&W as to create a mood for before and after the Death experience.
Positioning of characters, vs. their chose environment, and choice of textures and objects in any given scene is also something to write form the start on your Depth budget, it will give you great looks if done right.
B&W Just needs more carefully placed lighting as to create shadows and separation form everything on set and give it Dimension in a very particular way more so then in Color, I love the results.
