Running REDCINE-X Build194 with a Rocket Card on an HP-Z800 WinXP64.

Trying to export DNxHD36 1920x1080 25p 1/8 Debayer. Rocket Driver and Rocket Firmware are up to date via web download as of today and it cuts the transcode times roughly in half compared to not having the Rocket card installed which is great but REDCINE-X is far from problem free.

I have no interest in any color correction or reframing or altering the gamma/FLUT/etc. I only need to create offline files for editing in Avid MC. Transcode speed and the ability to start a transcode at night and have it be finished in the morning without any babying is my only concern.

I am batch exporting from a bin and the actual exporting works fine but after it finishes every clip I get a redexport.exe has crashed error.

Sometimes I get this error:
redexport.exe - Application Error
"The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000005) occurred in the application at location 0x00596add. Click OK to terminate the program"

After clicking ok, the clip progress changes to 100% and status to Finished. The next clip begins to transcode until it gets to 99%

The prettier version of the error is the standard windows error alert saying that redexport.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry... blah blah blah. Options are "Send Error Report" or "Don't Send". After clicking Don't Send, the same thing happens and transcoding continues with the next clip. Haven't been able to figure out why I get different errors but the result is the same either way.

The Error Signature of the "pretty" error is as follows:
AppName: redexport.exe
AppVer: 0.0.0.0.
Mod Name: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.2.3790.4455
Offset: 00020dee

If anyone has similar experiences or workarounds feedback would be greatly appreciated. Currently I am using MetaFuze which works fine but isn't able to use Rocket acceleration.

Anyone out there have MetaFuze working with Rocket Card?

Thanks for everything.

Can you email the log files to redcinex@red dot com?

On windows 7 "{User's Folder}\AppData\Local\red\RedCineX"
On XP: "{User's Folder}\Local Settings\Application Data\red\RedCineX\Logs"

Garrett,

I ran into what looks to be the same problem and I was wondering if you and Deanan had found a solution? What stumps me is that it went from rendering to not rendering when I added one more clip to a timeline and now it refuses to export Quicktime under any circumstances. I downloaded REDCINE-X 252 and it seems to have inherited the inability to render out any Quicktime - which leads me to think that it broke something in Windows XP rather than in the program itself.

Or is there a handy file somewhere on my system that I can delete and have the program start fresh... like we could with the old non-X Redcine?

I'm having problems with some clips as well running up to 99% in build 262 and then never reaching 100% - leaving Redcine-X unresponsive. The clips are playing fine in the application. Have sent problem description to redcinex at red dot com hoping to hear back soon.
