Filmed: Today, Sep 16
Red Settings: ASA 320, Shutter 1/48.
Red Zoom: 50mm, T5.6, .3 ND Filter
18 months ago I got my Red #27 reservation in the morning, and then that evening my wife told me she was pregnant (it was a very big life's-gonna-change sorta day). A few of you may remember me posting on RedUser from the delivery room, lol. So now the little guy is 9 months old, and given how him and Red have been linked in my mind since day 1, it's altother fitting that my Red baby play with my actual baby.

"Honey, can you do that one more time. Just try to push the stroller at a constant speed. I'm really having a hard time pulling focus with you all over the charts on acceleration"

Hi Shawn,
what is more worth than a baby?
One of the nicest contributions so far!

Thanks for posting that Shawn...
He has the Nelson family energy level for sure! A few more years and he'll be in on-the-job training as a grip for Nelson Pictures. I think its way cool that you use your new baby (RED) to practice shooting your other new baby - and why not! You'll have a nice 4k and 2k library of his growing years, plus you get to practice with #27 at the same time - a double win for sure!
When 2k RC RAW @100fps is enabled, and you record him using that, his fast moves can be played back in smooth slo-mo for family montages you edit.
Document the little guy's development...you'll be glad you did...

Awesome Shawn! I can't wait to do get some 4k of my munchkins too. You better practice up with your follow focus though... they get a lot faster as they get older and more mobile. And there isn't much directing of a hyper 18 month old!

Shawn, that looks spectacular! My first child is due in October, with the Red due shortly after. I think your footage may have just sealed the deal to convince my wife that it's a very worthwhile investment (the Red that is). Can't thank you enough.

You know they get bigger and continually eat more and more. I have two sons (12 & 14) and they are real treasures. Congrats! Oh, now that you have a RED and he is still a lil tyke you have the perfect opportunity now to shoot him once a day until he is 18 then edit the time elapse at 4k! :)

The baby is way too cool, but on a RED subject, did anybody feel a little goosebump when you saw the cameraman reflected in the babys eyes? Damn, thats a lot of resolution!
