So,
I'm curious to know what themes or subjects future Red owners will shoot first.
Me? Motorsports!
What will be your first shoot, and/or major project.

By first, do you mean at the camera testing stage or the first major project?
For me, once we are done with the test phase, our first big job is an episodic pilot in mid January.

There's some excellent shots of Sam Hubinette in the Test Drive sequence (if you like drifiting), plus Sam is sponsored by Oakley... best to keep it in the family!

khmuse,
I just want to see footage (whether it's shot on Red or not) from the talented members of this forum.
Perhaps a better title for this thread would have been Demo Reels.
At any rate, I'd love to see work that you or any of the members of this board have done.

"Test Drive with Danna Smith” it’s my favorite!! Great job, keep up the good work.

Thanks, Kevin!
I think my very first shoot will be with the yellow Lamborghini Gallardo in the Supercars clip.
Then maybe some desert racing! Slo-mo of Curt Leduc bumping and grinding with Renezeder, maybe? We'll see!

I was thinking of doing a short film just to test the camera, but now I think I'll probably do a music video. There's no money in short films and I don't care that much about festivals, really. It might be cool but I'd rather not put that much effort into a project I'm not especially eager to do, i.e. making a short just for the sake of it.
The first time we shoot with the RED package, I won't charge the client extra for using it. I figure it's a learning process for us and it'll be a bonus for the client to have something shot with such a great camera, probably for a low budget price under $10,000.

Jonathon,
Personally, I think that is a good idea.
I will probably do the same for my loyal clientelle. It wouldn't be fair to charge them full price until I know for sure that I'm giving them a fully reliable workflow.
