Just recently read almost the same news, but it was a different university and guy. Can't remember the name of the person, but it was the one who had developed solid state circuits and thus there was a lot of expectations and the professor had a lot of credibility. There are probably many groups around the world working with the same ideas.
It seems inevitable that there will be significantly smaller and faster memory circuits having much higher capacity than the existing ones. Just stay calm, such things are predicted to be available within a few years. And with no doubt then such things will find their way to RED.
