This is great news, I too was looking for a camera cart/MOPAR powered go cart for low mode tracking shots!:)
But a killer camera cart would suffice. Sean, you got us... but my heart cannot take all this teasing.:innocent:

I am not quite sure on that. $1290 for an on set camera cart seems to go against red price point of decent prices. Also with there being 100mm, 150mm ball mounts and a mitchell mount being offered on the same page I suspect maybe more of a dolly cart???? I have seen on set carts for just moving gear that have a permanent head mount welded on them (sachtler or mitchell) but they often tend to get in the way and a throwing a hi-hat on the top of the cart for the head is much easier and you can take the hi-hat off the top of the cart when it is not needed there and just stack cases. From what I have seen Jim is about form / function and shaking it up. A decent working dolly for $1290 would really shake it up compared to $1290 camera cart for moving cases that in my opinion is just very expensive.
I guess we will see in time but if it is just a camera cart I will stick to my far, far cheaper rubbermaid carts that work great.

$1290 is very cheap....I was thinking this was a video assist/camera cart. So that we can set up our MacBook Pro, AJA, monitors, drives, etc. maybe i'm wrong, but thats what I was hoping for
Our current camera cart was around $1500 and it just a basic cart that hauls the camera and lenses around:

Cheap is a fairly relative. That cart you show a link to I know of many Vancouver assistants that buy custom built carts made to the size you want in aluminum from a fabricator there for $600 to $700 depending on what you want. So for me $1290 is not anywhere close to cheap.

I think you may be misunderstanding what I am saying Mr. Onneweer. All I am saying is if it is simply a cart then I see it as fairly expensive and like I also mentioned Jim seems to like to shake it up and a simple cart does not really seem like his style.

I've seen the Red Cart, it looks almost identically to this

Which sells for $1558, so going "Red" is an 18% discount.

That would be great. At that price I would not expect a great dolly though but maybe a decent doorway dolly/ camera cart hybrid.

I don't know. I know it has an extra set of tiny wheels pointed towards the back to facilitate rolling sideways. But beyond that, I could not see a difference. It appears they simply modded those Filmtools cart, or simply cloned them.
The raging good deal from Red is the body, lenses and EVF. Everything else isn't that far off of other available prices for stuff. It's only a "raging good deal" if compared to Arri. Arri's prices aren't even close to reasonable, so that comparison isn't fair. But, everything Red does is exceptionally well built. They don't have to keep up with Red Body like prices. If the Red Cart is as good as the Filmtools cart for just 18% less, why wouldn't you go Red? I'm sure they could go to China and get in at half that price, but they need to make money somehow folks. It's like how you can go to a car dealer and the sticker price is fairly low, then come the accessories :-)

I bought a set of 10" casters that look very much like those from Sportsman's Guide a couple years ago. Two are fixed while the other two swivel. I'm pretty sure the cost was like $30 or less for all four, but could have been a little more. Screw them on a garden wagon and pull it anywhere. Not very professional, but serviceable. Oh, did I mention... my grip truck will be a John Deere mower with the deck removed and one of those dump bed trailers behind. Just go to the location and dump everything.

Hm, well each camera they were giving to their happy owners that day had a camera cart. Maybe these werent all RED carts, but I did see an ACTUAL red cart because I was talking about it with Ted and Matt. If my memory serves me correctly, the looked near identical to the ones in the pics. Im not a camera cart nazi though so I could be wrong.
