Hey guys. I already submitted a support ticket but I'm just checking if anyone has ever dealt with this before. My camera worked fine this morning. It sat unused for a few hours indoors, and now when it boots it just gives a white screen with colored banding/noise along the right side. The camera can play back previously recorded clips fine, but this white screen error occurs during live view, regardless of the amount of light actually hitting the sensor (i.e. It also happens with the lens cap on).

Here is a still taken with my iPhone. Any ideas?

have you tried booting up the camera with no evf, drive, or lcd plugged in, and then plug it all in after it's done booting?

I did reboot without anything connected and it didn't help. I just reinstalled build 30 but it made no difference. This definitely seems like a hardware problem.

This happened to me last week...very un-nerving to say the least..

My quick fix was to reload build 30...all is well!

Oh dammit. I didn't mean to do that. Could a moderator please move it?

Sean at RED tech support says it sounds like a hardware issue. I'm shipping it to RED in the morning. It's a pretty frustrating situation, but the RED guys always give pretty awesome service so I'm not too worried.

yes, something similar happened to me awhile ago. Reloading build (16 at the time) corrected it.

I would say download a fresh copy of build 30 and reinstall from a different CF card. Do a black-shade and see what happens. If it's still there see if it records that way to your clips or if it's just in the monitoring path.
