How is the LCD working in lieu of the VF?

I read the RED viewfinder is delayed. Therefore I assume most if not all of the first shipped cameras are using the LCD only. I am curious as to how well the LCD is actually working? How is it in bright conditions? Any focusing comments? Build quality comments? Anyone using another monitor in addition to or in place of the RED LCD?
