Red Rock Micro has a matte box coming out that will be around $500. Looks like it will be a really good product. They also have a wireless follow focus they are working on that will be $500 as well.

So there is a slight chance that RED will do matteboxes & filters?
I'm sure I'm not the only one watching that possibility with great interest!

That sounds interesting, I don't think I would want
to get in the accessories business right now.
The prices for the RED accessories are very fair.
Just compare - however I was wondering and had
asked this question earlier. Do RED reservation holders
have priority over non-reservation holders?
I mean if Joe Shmo placed an order for rods, etc.
Does RED look up and see if he is a reservation holder.
I am a reservation holder and have ordered a fair amount
of accessories.....and waiting to see what the RED cart looks like!!

Or if the demand is really there - what is RED's policy of working
with 3rd parties to build, market, distribute RED compatible accessories?

Nothing better and cheaper than RED accessories.

Just wait a bit as Jim mentioned before.

Or rent mine stuff in between. Have a look at the picture below.

That'd be great if Red could announce some new accessories before the end of the year.

I'm most interested in what red would come up with for a 4k monitor and follow focus, the mattebox should be pretty well covered by View factor Studios. Don't get me wrong, If the red mattebox is out I'll definetly have a look but shawns sounds like the right quality at the right price.

NAB 2008 is going to be fucking awesome!!

In the meantime, I have been very pleased with Cavision. Excellent work for very minimal prices. I think their earlier work didn't have good QC, since their reputation is out of whack with their current quality.

It would be nice if RED could give us a estimated timeframe for their own mattebox and followfocus etc. So we don't buy stuff from other companys an all of the sudden a few weeks later RED brings out their own stuff.

I wonder how Kurt is doing. I don't want to buy an arri mb-20. It's the best out there and I love it but its so damn expensive.

So RED Team please tell us what you are up to!?

Cheers
