Oooh... pretty. Any chance of posting a shot taken with that lens?

Next month we are shooting some night exteriors tests - you'll get some real footage then. This 75mm lens just stopped by to jump on our lens projector and shoot some test charts before heading back to Germany. Stay tuned -

I need to explain to my wife what a Titanium fetish is ...

In the words of that famous Chinese philosopher, Alex DeLarge- "Gorgeous gorgeosity"

Still to see one single frame captured with those lenses. Mark? Anyone?

Mark,

I won't get my hands on those little Leicas until next week or so.. Any conclusions after projecting?

Mark thanks a lot for the pics

and it's absolutely fantastic.

Hera are below mine pics from Leica older brother Apo-Summicron-M 75mm ASPH.

Summicron means f/2.0 in Leica language

and Summilux f/1.4.

Looking forward to see OffHollywood Q&D test clip soon.

Maybe I go out and shoot something in the night after the FIFA World Cup football matches.

Stay tuned.

Nice. Why do you always have best toys, Mark? :biggrin5:

Apart from weight and size, how do they comare to MPs?

Jim has the best toys. But I'm trying damn hard -

Apart from weight and size, how do they comare to MPs?

Really looked extremely similar on the projector to the MP - razor sharp all the way out - but it's the size, weight, markings, etc. will have you at HELLO.

Looking forward to shooting some beauty stuff, night stuff, flares, etc. - I'll post footage after I get to play -

Mark,

sorry I don't have intention to hack again your tread about new Leicas,

but till you don't finish your testing I'll now give a little sniff about

my favorite Leica 75mm that's Apo Summicron-M 77mm ASPH.

It is about several grabs from tonight shooting about a half of hour around my home here in Vienna.

Don't worry my Q&D clip will be published in a separate tread and video at vimeo as soon as can finish editing.

This is here only in a way that people can get an idea about the quality of Leica lenses for moving images.

Sexy Mark, I just talked to the guys at BandPro, seriously about to put a pre-order.

I really love those lenses!! ONe and all the same!! Beautiful!!

The thing is ... these lenses are a MONSTER investment.

Think about it ....

One set of these babies ... or ....

TWO Epic Cameras - let's just say STAGE 4!! full price for brain - $28,000

$56,000

Let's just guess - modules, media, bomb EVFs, etc, etc, = go crazy and allow $15,000 per camera

$30,000

Two sets of RPPs @ $23,750

$47,500

$44,500 for filters, matteboxes, follow focuses, etc. etc.

so ... bottom line ... $178,000 is a lot of loot - and you do do many things with that amount of loot - these lenses IMO are a better investment than Cooke S4s, S5s or Master Primes - and ACs will worship these lenses.

But it really depends if you have a trust fund ... or the right clients.

If you don't have clients that will pay over $225 per lens, per rental day - and at least 5 rental days per month - 12 months a year .... think long and hard - but sexy ... hell yeah! Amazing lenses. Serious investment.

What is most exciting to me is that they are meeting now to decide if they will move ahead with MATCHED SETS of 4 primes for 3D with basically zero difference tolerance.

I have been thinking about it so hard, but this are truly the Dream set I have been waiting for a long time, no more miss matching sizes, and big carry issues, no differences in Screw on filters when shooting Stills with Epic, and the list goes on, off course no mentioning the incredible build and IQ, with extremely well controlled artifacts.

Yes 150/180k is lots of money, and I don't really plan on rental only self developed and self produced projects with in our new studio to be.

The news that also came to my hears about the mini set for S3D, made me almost cry, he he!!

I already have two Epic-X coming, so I'm good on cameras, but we are now in contact with BandPro Burbank and awaiting their mini set of Leica C Summilux for testing, then the big decision will have to be made.

Bruce there is always an excuse for me to get more money to spend

At list this investment would not be as a bad as the Quarter of a Mil I'm loosing on my house :(

Dumb question but if I don't ask it I'll never get smart. Will Epic have an optional Leica mount? Is there more than one type Leica mount?

BTW, don't get me wrong here, I'm not a Russian spy  (or any sort of spy either ) just because it happend that I live close to the Schwarzenbergplatz in Vienna

that has the Hochstrahlbrunnen fountain with a relic from WWII: The Soviet memorial „Heldendenkmal der Roten Armee" and it's on my daily passing route.

Also there is a very nice timelapse from another guy (Rafael Asquith) at Vimeo (http://vimeo.com/groups/22252/videos/12626060) that you can get an idea about the place during a daylight.

Please say you edited the text LOL

Fredrik,

what do you mean "anymore"?

I would say never been any sort of spy, not even during military service in Ex-Yugoslavia when I refused to "spy" my roommate solders when the colonel asked me to do this.

I was always a sort of rebellion...don't like so much any institution...

Hey Ketch...two words for you, DO IT! This is an incredible investment and down the road you will wish you did buy them cause they will only go up in price. I have been a leica shooter for years when I hit the big money (oh I will ;) I will use this as a personal set.

Nice shots Sanjin, shooting Leica on RED is nothing new to you of course...thanks for the pix Mark, but where is the footy! You big tease.
