Wish this would have been available a little sooner. Maybe I'll part ways with my eSATA HBA card in my MacPro in exchange for one of these.

Sonnet's Qio website:

This would take care of my eSATA connectivity needs, and has adapters for use in the ExpressCard slot of MBP's as well. $1k bucks is pretty steep though.

has anyone used one of these?
I heard they had issues (only working with machines that boot in 32bit) but I also heard there's new one.

From the Sonnet Qio FAQ:

Is the Qio driver compatible with a 64-bit kernel boot of OS X 10.6?

No, not at this time. 64-bit kernal boot is partially supported, with the following caveats 1) The Panasonic P2 driver is not 64-bit compatible, and 2) Sleep is not supported.

Posted on May-11-11 so I'm guessing that applies to the currently shipping version... P2 support isn't that big a deal though and as for Sleep - doesn't the Rocket disable that anyway (haven't looked at the current firmware builds for it in a loong time).
