Hey Vladimir,

the Birger mount is a plus, as you wrote I will be bring L series Prime set consisting of:

EF 50mm f/1.2L
EF 85mm f/1.2L II
EF 135mm f/2.0L
EF 200mm f/2.8L II

and the Super Wide zoom

EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II

let me know if you need lights or anything else.

I will be bringing some 8Gb CF cards and a 800FW Extreme card reader as well.

If we do not get any one to bring Master Primes and Cooke's (i) I will be willing to rent at list one of each on the 35mm to test against RED 18-50, Canon EF 16-35L II on the same focal length at 35mm,

Not to test one against the other to an extreme, but more to see the image each lens produces, as I have 3 RED coming years end I like to get a clear idea of this lenses image to choose the ones I will go with.

I believe this will be of interest of other RED owners as well.

Good luck with this Vladimir and again count me in for any needs you may have for this shoot, I also look forward to mee you on person and attend the RED training day.

Hey Ronnie,

I will also bring the 8mm sigma/Eos fisheye, with so many programs to make rectilinear images out of fisheye lenses, this could be interesting.

Your lenses will do great especially the 200mm f/1.8 that lens has got great reviews, I will be bringing my 1D Mark III camera with me and I would also love to try the 1.8 on it.

Looking forward to meet you there.

My offer to provide a set of FD primes stands, but I have recently learned that for now at least, a FD lens mount is no longer being worked on. I would be interested to learn how many users have an interest in FD glass on their RED? I may just have a solution brewing. PM me if interested.

Vladimir

I just arrived back in LA from South Africa. If you guys can fit me in, I'd love to be there. I don't have much to bring but would be happy to contribute towards the food budget, etc.

Lens-wise, I don't have anything really cool but if you're interested, I'd be delighted to contribute: Peleng 8mm 3.5, Nikon 24mm 2.0, Nikon 50mm 1.4, Nikon 105mm 1.8, Nikon 80-200 2.8 AF-D... plus a few surprises. In terms of lights, all I own is a used Arri 1.2k fresnel HMI - let me know if you need it because at the moment I don't have a light stand ;) Other things: HV20 (yaay), Sekonic 608c light meter, my 10.6" HDMI monitor... beer?

In terms of the post side, let me know what you need. My day job is theatrical movie trailers and title sequences but I have pretty broad post skills.

We shipped an early prototype to Vladimir Eugene for arrival this morning. It is the industrial version of our product, with a mechanical adapter for the RED camera, and a USB cable. This will allow changing the iris/focus with a WinXP computer and HyperTerminal. This will allow for manual focusing with most lenses, without the computer attached. Image Stabilization can also be enabled.

Hope this is enough to do some evaluation of the lenses. Preproduction units were in too short of a supply to offer any for this testing. :bye2:

Hi Erik,

thanks so much for shipping out the unit to us, greatly appreciated for you to do so in short notice, as a Canon shooter and owner of a great collection of Canon's best L glass i truly hope to see your mount work like a charm in the unifide hope that Canon's glass performance will be just as charming on RED.

Thanks again, we will do some posting of the event later on, both some clips and stills.

Any of you guys bringing one of these? Don't know if there would be an interference issue, but it would be fun to see what it looks like on the RED.

Thanks guys,

A lot of folks seem to berate the 20-120 Angenieux. But we use to take them completly apart, fool around with some optical group spacings and centerings and a few other tricks and I must say they can be a very nice lens.

Hey Billy,

If Stephen hasn't dropped or shoved the rear element thru a pellicle or something like that, mayby you could get him to send you his Cooke 20-60mm zoom over for a test. I can speak from experience that it's a god one.

Stephen, only kidding.

Hi Chuck,

That lens is still perfect, I have only used it a couple of times it's the cleanest piece of glass I own!
