I was wondering if there is an adapter from nikon to canon that can control aperture?
I am looking to get 14-24 G f2.8 nikon and besides my Red I want to use it on Canon.
Anyone seen it?
If yes anyone knows a place in NY that sales it?

Thanks

Albert

I ordered one of the adapters from16-9.net back on May 12. It still hasn't arrived. When I checked on it a few weeks ago, they sent an email that the factory closed for a while and that my adapter would "ship on Monday." That was weeks ago. Haven't gotten them to reply to email since then.

Seems like a lot of hassle to get a kludge set up to work - why not just get a Canon lensand use a birger mount - works with canon electronic as well as manual Nikon, C/Y, Leica, M42, Pentax 645, etc. etc. with simple mechanical adapters?

Neither Canon nor any other company makes as good extreme wide-angle lens as the Nikon 14-24mm. The only problems with with it are no filters and no aperture ring. Optically, it is brilliant lens.

Another option is to get the Ruby, but it is 10 times more expensive...

Looks like the only option at the time is nikon G. To bad it's not available anywhere.
Michael.
I have done a round of lens change back in 2008. My setup includes a lot of Zeiss in Nikon mount.
Agree with you Pawel, that 14-24 is special:)
Shame on Nikon for drooping the aperture ring...

I have an Optitek Nikon mount with aperature control for my R1-MX. No need to "de-click" my standard Nikon lenses, and works beautifully with the 14-24mm and all other "G" lenses.. The best money I have spent on a R1 accessory. I have a Petroff matt box which supprisingly accomodates the 14-24mm and I can use 4x4 filters with out vignetting. I suppose others such as Arri or Chroziel can do the same.

The cost of declicking my 13 standard Nikon lenses certainly exceeds the cost of the mount alone, and the big bonus is being able to use my 14-24mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm, not to mention the amazing Tokina 11-16mm. It is beautifully made and highly precise. It draws the lens in toward the mount's flange (as does a PL, BNCR, etc) as opposed to the standard flimsy Nikon mount which has the lens hang against "leaf spring pressure". I personally consider Optitek's mounting method essential for the 11-16mm and 14-24mm if one wants sharp pictures corner to corner (unless you go the PL route). Also I no longer have to support my 70-200mm with rods because the Optitek mount is so robust.
