Why did people stop posting stills and footage?
It's been like the three same threads for the past decade.

IMO Arm chair QB'ing and lack of consideration for those who have taken the trouble to generously post here.
Unfortunately, I saw this coming when the footage started to come in..... and suggested we all be kind, here...

Hey I'm all for being kind. I just wanted to know what happened. It seemed like there was a quasi-flood when the cams first came out. Just excited to see more

I´d love to see more of the stuff, too. Espacially some edited and longer footage. Well, there will be more eventually...

IMHO there's not a whole lot of reward for being the 5th or 10th person to put up your own ad-hoc camera test, that's sort of "been done" already. My guess would be that the current camera owners are busy trying for some return on their investment.

wait... so people asking for more footage resulted in less footage?
Explain your logic behind that.

No, people asking for footage and then going "Oh, this footage sucks, look at this, that, and the other flaw that I'm going to jump on even though it may not even be a genuine flaw but rather just operator error or an artifact introduced when compressing for the internet." That's what resulted in less footage.
At least in the above logic.

Well they should suck it up and take it like a [insert gender].
(I'll let you decide which option is least offensive).

Sweet, it looks like that dangly front-handle is unscrewable! I'd been trying to get an answer to that question for weeks. :-)
Odd that the image doesn't take up the entire width of the LCD panel... even if we're stuck in 2:1 land for the meantime, the image shouldn't be cropped on the sides, right? I got to see the screen up close at the Silverado presentation and although the image is sharp, the monitor itself is quite small. Is that the way it normally behaves?

I’ve been searching the forum for a Red owner describing
converting of red raw footage on a 8 core Mac. He said
it took 30 hours to convert 2 hours of footage to SD.
Anyone know where that was posted?
I briefly read the post, but didn’t bookmark it.

I wonder if other people working with red footage
are dealing with long conversion times.

Red Alert ist NOT the final answer in conversion times. Please wait for the imminent release of RedCine to judge processing times. RedCine will use all your GPU's powers.

The software, just like the camera, is in development too! You are along for the ride. Software optimization is a process that has just been started, so I expect performance to get better and better.

Did you see this footage yet? It looked pretty good to me, but I haven't seen anyone else here comment on it. Is it that the resolution too low for people to even bother looking at?

i like the look of this a lot. Even though he says the highlights have been clipped in post it still isnt distracting to me.
It has a smooth look to the image and I love the outdoor shot of her walking down the street. If there's highlight detail there, then great, however I see a ton of films with clipped highlights such as these.

The video link pops up a separate window via Javascript (? I think), and you may have some setting that disables it. Once it started playing I was able to right-click and choose "save as quicktime..." to get a local copy, but I don't want to repost it without permission.
I sent an email to James Mathers, and if I get the ok I'll put up a link you can download normally.
