There has been some questions about the quality of using Nikon glass with Red. Well not sure how many of you red the article in Cinematographer about Bourne Ultimatum but it seems 70% of the film was shot with Nikon lenses.
You can read it here: http://www.ascmag.com/magazine_dynamic/September2007/TheBourneUltimatum/page1.php

Old news... :)
As for Nikon with RED, lots of people are planning to use Nikon lenses (or Canon) with their RED One. The concerns over using such have little to do with the quality of the glass, but rather the lack of cine-style gearing and control of breathing or other physical issues to do with the lens construction. But it seems these issues are small as many now use Nikon and Canon still lenses to great success with 35mm adapters for other video camera systems.

Old News - what kinda lame response from a moderator is that?
I didn't see this article referenced anyhere in these forums thus why I posted a link to it. Yes, we HAVE discussed the problem with their mechanics and as the article shows they had Arri rebuild the controls.
Next time I'll leave the informative links out of these forums.

Shot this with my Nikon D200. Most of the shots
are with a 10.5 fisheye. I don't think this lens
will cover S35. The point is. I think you could
get excellent results with Nikon lenses if
your client does not expect PL mount lenses.

Chill, dude... Notice the smiley.
But if you want to get technical, that news came out about the time the latest Bourne film did. The ascmag article is in the Sept. issue, which has been circulating for a month now, and it has been discussed here in various threads. The latest of which is right here: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4391 ...Actually, I think there's newer discussion in the thread about rebuilding Nikon lenses over in the the lens test forum.
Anyway, I apologize for applying the "old news with a smiley"... If I hadn't done it, someone else would have. Next time I'll write, "I think there might be a slight chance of a remote possibility that this article has already been discussed somewhere on these forums. :)"

Anyway, I didn't mean to upset, or offend, or make light of what you posted. I guess it's just a habit some of us mods have developed, with a lot of the repetitive info posted. I realize that it's difficult to keep track of everything that flows through these forums... Heh, we had a discussion on that topic just the last day or two as well and what to do about it.

LOL! :)
Don't worry, Fullrez. This is maybe the 20th thread referencing this topic, which just goes to show how many others got just as excited as you. Seriously though, I'm going with Nikon myself, and this kind of news makes me beam!

I knew there were other Nikon topics but for some reason my search didn't pull up reference to the article - thus why I posted it.
I'm not upset at all, was just giving the mod some grief. All in good sportsmanship.
