Hi Everyone,

I'm a writer and director based out of Toronto. I've made a few short films on HD and 35mm that have played at various film festivals, and I'm currently putting together two feature projects.

I come from a technical / cinematography background and I've been following the development of the RED camera with much interest. It seems like a great tool to bring some high-end production value to smaller shoots, and I can't wait to get my hands on one!

If I can be of any assistance to people in the GTA regarding script or production issues, feel free to contact me. I'd also be interested in coming out to the next RED user get together in the area.

Also...

I'm planning on shooting a little comedy short in October - the dates aren't locked down yet, but it will be a one-day shoot on a weekend. It's about a guy in a beat-up jalopy who tries to pick up a beautiful woman driving a Porsche 911 Turbo when they're both stopped at a red light. Pretty simple concept, but it will be very funny - both our actors are hilarious performers who have a number of professional film credits. I'd be happy to send the script to anyone who is interested in reading it.

I'm currently planning on shooting HD, most likely the HDX-900, but if someone with a RED is interested in getting involved, that would be great! It's going to be a fun shoot with a great opportunity to capture some really beautiful (and fast) driving footage. I plan to take advantage of that Porsche while we have it, and plan to shoot enough driving footage to also cut together a spec commercial spot.

Feel free to contact me with any questions!

Sounds interesting Bob, Anansi MI won't have cameras till Dec, but if you like send me a PM (click on Bro Anansi to the left and drop down will appear) with some more info about yourself.

Toronto RED-Meet 03 will be announced shortly.
The two previous Meets were for reservation holders, but I'll have to see what others think of opening it up.
