Now that Erik has confirmed Birger will produce a Nikon mount I am thinking of going with my existing Nikon DSLR setup, but they are not as fast as I can get with Canon so can I ask:
How does RED's sensitivity compare with a Nikon D80 at ISO100?
I'd like to use my 18-200 VR as an all purpose Documentary lens, but I've noticed that it performs best at F5.6 - F8. Is this really too stopped down for much interior or night-time available light work with RED?

So RED is rated 320/500 and can be pushed to 1000 without everyone freaking out. From this we could surmise that lenses that open to at least 1.8 would be ideal for a standard night shoot with RED...?

Hi Fergus,
That will work fine, as digital is like reversal to protect the highlights 320/500 asa @1.8 is probably spot on.

What's a standard night shot? Are you talking about NYC or the Mojave Desert. The best thing to do is to set your D80 at ISO 320 or 500 or 1000, and go take actual pictures with the lenses you want to use. Then you decide if the exposure is good enough.

Hi,
IMO Night looks best wide open, DFN T16 does not really look right to me.
YMMV
