I'm looking to rent a simple 4-5" jib/crane for a test shoot. I need it to have a remote head and to be able to nearly touch the ground, in terms of length. What is a cheap solution for this? I remember working on one show where we had something like this. It was a stand-alone jib arm with a remote head that was fairly easy to set up and use. Price is also a factor, since this is just for a test. It would be a one-day rental.
Maybe something along the lines of this... though it doesn't need to be this large... Even one half this size would be ok.

Also, how would focus work? Would I need a remote?

That looks like it's only a 6' jib. That's the smallest you'd probably want to go. :)

Hey Tom, We have a Jimmy Jib Light that goes 6', 12' and 18' with remote head, focus and zoom control depends on your camera and the lens you are using, we have controls for Canon lenses and LANC control for HVX200 or Sony cameras. Send me a IM for a quote.

You could see some thumbnail photos on my website www.digital2pop.com also you can check it out on www.jimmyjib.com. also you can use my studio for the test. I don't have a solution for remote focus and zoom on RED, I've read in forums that there is a solution but I can't find it now, maybe you know.
Thanks
