Been awhile since Evin posted Solo El Principio, (possibly) the first ever Red music video.

I've taken it and, for fun, done a color correction pass, from the H264 1.8K version posted elsewhere. You can download all 327 MB here:

Evin, this is for you, you can do what you like with it. Let me know if you want me to remove it.

But I think it looks cool.

I've uploaded a much smaller file if you just want to take a quick look.

Please let me know what you think!

I like several things that you did Vanguy. The brick wall background shots are really improved. But my favorite shots of the video still are the original green wall background shots with the ring lighting rig.

Most music videos are graded very stylized and have layers of SFX. It was nice to see the basic cut from Evin to really see the images RED produced first. Posting it at 1.8K was great. When do we get the final version Evin?

Can you add a 720p or a 1k version please?

I'll put up a 1K version in a bit. It takes 3x as long to upload as to download, since I'm on ADSL. So, soon.

I didn't go as far as I might have for two reasons:

1) I'm being somewhat loyal to Evin's vision, but more importantly,

2) the H264 can only be pushed so far before it starts to come apart.

Here you go Don, 1K.

Very useful. Thank you.

Agreed. A friend of mine had asked a 720p for a screening in his projector. As less compression as possible. Even being a heavier file. I'm not sure if you can provide.

Sorry Don,

I'm running a couple of paying projects through the system right now. I'm afraid I can't do another recompress for a few days.

But the 1K is only about 20% smaller than 720p; you could play it cropped on your buddy's projector. Or you could try downloading the 2K file and scaling it.

I don't think you're going to see a lot more than these files in any case; the limitation of the original H264 file means it's not going to look too much better even if I sent it to you uncompressed.

Is there something specific you're looking for? Possibly I could answer your questions if I know what you'd like to know...
