I have recently co-produced, written and directed a doco drama (on Red 3166) that is to be onsold to the Australian government. I need two other written quotes to satisfy the criteria for the sale.

Basically, I need two quotes to (theoretically) produce this film in its entirety from concept to post production. i.e. write the script, cast the film, crew, camera, lighting and sound equipment, locations, cater, edit etc

Unfortunately, the quote will not eventuate into a paying job as the film is already completed.

Breakdown in brief:
A principal cast of eight people,
additional cast of 15 (speaking roles)
three paramedics and an ambulance
two stuntmen (two days work each)
and 25 extras.
It is primarily shot interior on one location- a large house with a large pool.

The following is the film shoot breakdown
Day shoots:
Eight days (interior day house)
One car dialogue scene (car in motion) daytime

Night shoots
Two nights (exterior- pool scenes involving primary cast and two stuntmen with high dives into the pool)
One car dialogue scene (with car in motion) night shoot

2 minutes of CGI

A 26 minute running time- output to DVD.

Please contact me via PM or directly at joecaroldarcy@mac.com for further details if you are able to assist. Thank you.

Thank you to those that have viewed this thread and emailed. However, I am still in need of two quotes. Any assistance with this is much appreciated.

I don't want to sound nasty, but I hope this may illuminate why people are viewing this thread but not sending you quotes:

Creating a proper quote, one that is fully detailed and customized to the production you have listed, is something that takes a whole lot of time, thought, and effort. Perhaps you need to find a film or television accountant, ask them to create a budget for you, and pay them for their time.

They are probably looking for "competitive quotes" but the problem is that it's nowhere near as simple as quoting for, say, a car repair or home renovation.

Joe,

Be serious. If I am not correct you are asking us to give a quote for an already produced show, not to give a quote for a job in the offing. Granted you admit to this, but serious you ask us to do a lot of work so you can reverse engineer your production and without compensation. Are you surprised by the lack of takers.

Thanks for your responses Steven and Ray. I'm not surprised by the lack of responses. As you suggested, it is about competitive quoting.

There is no pretense here. I understand that there is a lot of work in a quote and that there will be no film production once the quote is complete. As Stephen suggested, a film or TV accountant will only go some of the way to what I need.

I am open to payment for a quote, i.e. compensation for your time, where the quote is paid for but there will be no film production.

i.e. pm and let me know how much you need to charge to write up a quote. Thank you.

Joe
