Workflow RedCine x + Final Cut

Hey,

Apologies if this is a repeat post. I've tried searching for pointers here but there are so many posts on various different things I cant find anything relavent to my problem.

A while back working on a RED project I set up a workflow which was essentially this:

R3D > Final Cut (native transfer) > Crimson > Red Cine > Crimson > Final Cut > Delivery.

Everything seems to have changed now with Red Cine X and Crimson seems to have gone into hibernation.

I think my question is, what is recommended? Should I still try and achieve a workflow where I use red cine at the end of the cut or should I go for a simpler option of doing a basic grade first with red cine?

If you'd like to keep this route (just replacing REDCINE with REDCINE-X at the end of the edit process) you can try some applescripts I wrote recently :

Edit in FCP using QT proxies, log and tranfer or offlines files, export an xml
XML2RCX will allow to send your edit to REDCINE-X
RCX2XML will roundtrip your rendered QTclips from REDCINE-X back to FCP

(I'm working right now on an "all in one" big script with some new features so it will be easier for everyone to keep track of the latest version vs separate scripts)

Yes will work well with any FCP version and with all recent REDCINE-X.

All my scripts will work in demo mode (up to the first 7 edits) so you can try it on your system and make sure all is good...

If you run into an issue thanks for sending me your XML file so I can fix any bug...
