I know everyone at Red is working hard... but it has been a few weeks since we have seen any new images from the camera or of the camera or of how Spike and his brothers are doing?
So how about a quick update please and maybe a pic or two to renew our enthusiasm here at red user.
And if you are having a problem or 2, ask us for our suggestions and feedback. We're here to help.

LOL, guys, guys, guys!!! Each member of the RED Team has at one time or another within the past month (probably week even) said that no further updates will be released until sometime in March.
Until then, you're just wasting forum space.

EDIT: I've decided to go back to DVXuser until things start hoping around here. Let's hope I don't end up buying a Cannon HV20 instead of a RED. :) :)

March? We gotta wait to March?! Sorry, what kind of marketing is that? At least show us some cars, jets, Spike in pieces.... I don't care... but I thank Shawn Nelson, for what I wanted to say... this forum is getting @#$ boring...
No offense to us... but if the audience has nothing to watch, do, help, or dream... we get restless... and 3 weeks seems long for me and to hear we have to wait to March... come on... Red has done a great job on marketing and a bit of hype to keep us $17,000 faithful excited...
The whole point of this forum is for us to help and participate. So for us to be cut off for a few weeks... I think is a bit much and not great marketing. Seriously, we want to help. We want to be involved.
Hell, if Jim needs his car or jet washed by Red members, I'd be there just to meet them and dream about the future... The middle act of a movie isn't suppose to get slow, but right now, it's time for a bathroom break.
Again, we support RED... but silence is not a virtue here for us. We either want to help or cheer for our team but if they stay off the field of view what the hell are we suppose to do.
If things are going to be delayed... tell us now, not later. I'd be happy to hear a new delivery date in September or later than to hear it at NAB. I'm not trying to start rumors, I just want to hear some news or see some pictures.
I know work is moving forward, just tell us... or if it isnt let us help. Even if it isnt a picture, I'd be happy to hear, redcode bug fixed, red focus assist 90% done and on target... something.. you guys are working hard, let us be apart of the inches or miles that you are covering. That's all...
If not, then at least do a RED Daddy commercial to be banned from the next Superbowl. Best wishes, Godspeed Red Team.

That really not even an option. I just keep my time split on both this and DVX. I just find it takes even more of my time that I should be working.:D Thanks jarred for giving the feens some more crack... For me I have been marking my cal with big RED X's wailting for march..

Greg, just pretend that Red doesn't exist... What you should do is this,
1) Save up some money for a plane ticket to the former Yugoslavia.
2) Book a flight to Belgrade and go to 32 Milica Su. near the port. Ask for Dana.
3) Dana will take you to Safe Harbor and erase your mind for 5200 dinar.
4) Be sure to write yourself a note in your breast pocket with your plane ticket back to Portola Valley.
5) Return home to a vegetative state.
6) Get a job in the produce industry and take up a hobby like widdling dreidels.
7) Sometime around July you will more than likely recieve a phone call from a technological wizard that will command you to pay him $16,500 for a tasty new RedOne Digital Cinema Camera.
8) Empty your savings account and join the revolution, even though by this time you should be senior marketing manager for Produce Inc.

I am a member of the local 695 Union of Video and Sound engineers and hope to attract many of my fellow colleagues to look at the Red One.
I plan on renting a Red on some projects in the not too distant future, if my directing aspirations come to fruition.

I would like to point out to the fact that not only we have proved a lot of patience with RED. RED has also proved a lot of patience with us. Since a year or more the REDguys answer over and over again the same or similar questions and are not pissed of at all. Let them work in peace for a while and let's wait for the really big news in march... and let's go to work and win money for the next big bang in cinema history, hopefully at NAB

I did return from LA broke having spent much of my comrads (dead fathers) money (whose father flead thy evil Stalin's grasp)... now, I do well relaxing people with my waves dvds and with RED will bring relaxation and nature beauty to the HD masses... I hope... I do not need a U2 spy plane to find out what RED is doing... since they have gone a bit silent.

Synergy, and capitalism tend to cause the breakthroughs of the world... i would hope, we can help red more than hurt them by being involved in the development. Hopefully, many companies in the future will follow Reds lead in involving its customers and co-creators... since we really want to express ourselves better with RED. However, when RED is silent, we tend to get silent or at least boring on these forums... I'm hoping for some news and info that will inspire us all or some problems for us to help solve... (obviously, the Superbowl was not enough for me, today. Good night)

Hey ! Fellow (future) red users, give our team a break, cause I think they're working their a... off to get this out of the starting blocks. I heard some stuff about YouTube the other day, when they thought they were done and ready to go public, they ended up doing eight more months of debugging. I sure hope it's not the case with Red One, but I'd rather they made sure to work the kinks and bugs out before I find them out in the middle of a shoot.
This is the last straight to the finish, but it may be a lonnnnnnnnng straight. I don't have any doubts Red One is gonna kick ass, but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a little more time than they had hoped for.
If we have no news, it means they're busy busy busy, quite naturally so; it's the nature of the final touches of any project. So no news is good news. Save your breath and your money, not only for Red One, accessories and everything you're going to need with it, but also for the projects you're going to use it on.

For sure, Red team must concentrate, etc....
But, we had lately a very good thread about video assist, and I think this one is the perfect exemple of a very good cooperation between futur users and manufacturer that will lead to small but important modification on the camera. I think this forum is for that (along other thing of course), so keep posting....
Also if I remember well, Red camera working prototype should have been given to differents DoP for test shooting somewhen in late december. Has this already happend (if not will it happen) and if yes what are the resluts of the tests? Can we see the images?

It has been mentioned by members of the Red team we would get results of the latest prototypes out there in March, I don't know if that's begining or end, but it ain't now, so yes let's keep useful threads going and wait.
