Hello,
Some people think it's rocket packs, maybe it runs on coal. Well really what it is, is a tricked out Yamaha TW200 that I customized to be the ultimate Red camera/travel shoot rig. I designed this motorcycle to be able to carry and shoot a Red One, and a digital still camera.
The bike has 2 tubes on the back, which can carry tripods, big and small. When I used the Red, I removed one of the tubes, and carried a large basic tripod that could hold the Red, and left one tube on to hold a nice Gitzo. The basic tripod was just sticks, ball head base, and a dovetail plate. It did not matter if that tripod got dirty or wet, as it was just used for lock down plate shots. The tripod in the tube is protected from the elements, as it is sealed. So already I can go almost any place, urban or not with 2 tripods.
Next the bike has a large cargo box, that I use a large padded cooler bag that comes out of the box to put my camera gear into. So the gear has it's own individual bags, that sit inside the cooler bag in the cargo box. The camera gear is well protected.
Then to have more fun with it all, I built out an Arri dovetail to ride on the front of the bike for driving POV shots. It was great for freeway footage in tight traffic (I don't sanction this) weaving in and out of traffic. The bike is a 200cc so it's light and nimble. I sometimes in a city, just mounted a camera, parked the bike almost any place and used it as a tripod itself, with the kickstand down, it's 3 points just like a tripod. Plus I can always find a parking space, by that sweet spot to shoot, and have all my gear with me. Much easier to park then a car.
This bike in the city is so great to use, stop shoot and go, and to shoot from the bike. When going rural, I would either trailer the bike (trailer also for sale), or put the bike on the back of my car with a Versahauler (included). I would drop the bike off the ramp, load my gear, and now I could travel fire roads, or go on skinny trails that a car or tuck would not be able to travel on. The bike was designed and fabricated for maximum versatility. All of the mounts were custom built, there is no other motorcycle like this, especially at the price I am asking for it.
People always stop and ask me what the tubes are for, I like making things up like... "it runs on coal, or they are rocket packs". Even cute ladies wan't to now what's up with the tubes? That's when I come up with even more fun answers. I have had a lot of fun with this bike. I have it for sale now, as I am mostly doing web work and not using the bike as much as I would like.
The whole package is located in Santa fe, NM. The package comes with tricked out TW200, dovetail plate, riding gear for 2 adults, Versahauler, and more. The Haulmark trailer is also available. I can deliver the whole deal to Los Angeles, but would have to be paid first, or better yet, come to Santa Fe and check it out.
To read more and to watch a video of it, please go to ebay.com, search for Red one mount, or Yamaha TW200, sort by highest first, and you can see it there.
