I am about to pose perhaps a brutally stupid question, finding an adequate answer to which turned out to be close to impossible, even given the "everything subject to change" motto.

On their official site http://www.red.com/press/ Red shows some configurations without any additional battery modules. Does this mean that 1) the featured configuration has some sort of internal power source/battery or 2) you will have to plug the featured unit into a regular power outlet?

Then, on the same page, Red shows some configurations without the CF modules. Does this mean that 1) there is/will be some sort of internal recording media or 2) I am blindly missing something? 3) Finally, what impact will the recording media have on the frame- and data rates, burst mode etc?

The questions are posed with either scarlet s35 or ff35 in mind. If these are very obvious and long-discussed topics please accept my apologies.

Hi.

I wouldn't put too much into those early renders. Even the copyright is from 2008. A lot has changed.

Batteries:
There is supposed to be a battery for, I believe, the side handle. Also, the plan is for the charging unit to act as AC power source.

Media:
Red says they are moving forward beyond even 64GB CF cards but have not announced what specifically. As far as I know, all storage will be in an external module.

There are a couple of round-up posts for the October 30th and November 30th announcements that cover a lot of details. If I can track them down quickly, I'll post them and that should give you a great amount of relevant information.

Here are links to a great deal on the two programs, though things are subject to change.
There may be another roundup or two of more recent information, but this should be a good start for you.
