Since the Video Assist thread has been very productive, I would like to start a Framelines thread which will be for everyone to suggest which frameline features would be most useful. If you are new to this idea, please see this thread:

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=444

Here is a general guideline. The two ways I see this working is that we come up with Frameline Aspect Ratios and Frameline Graphics. The two methods would be for the Camera to provide a generator for Framelines in the certain Aspect Ratios and the other would be User requested Graphic Overlays that we would like to see as templates (possibly as files uploaded through memory modules, etc.). I really don't know if the programmers have time for these options (they certainly have their work cut out already), but these may be food for thought or options for future firmware.

I'll update the list as we get feedback from everyone who participates:

Framelines Aspect:
1.33 (4:3) NTSC / PAL SD [ON] [OFF]
1.37:1 Academy [ON] [OFF]
1.78 (16:9) HD [ON] [OFF]
1.66:1 Europe 35mm [ON] [OFF]
1.85:1 US 35mm [ON] [OFF]
2.35:1 [ON] [OFF]
2.39:1 [ON] [OFF]
3.0:1 [ON] [OFF]
User Defined Aspect [W:H]

Look Around Area Opacity: (perhaps this gets applied to the First Frameline toggled? Or should this option be individually applied?)
User Defined [0%-100%]

What other options, aspects, and overlays would be desired?

Should we still give this thread a shot?

I was hoping some more Video Assist Operators, Camera Operators, and DPs would chime in with some more suggestions to add to the list... no?

I want to be able to upload a PNG or similar file of my custom frame line overlay to the camera. I could toss something together in photoshop that is exactly what I need and then just load this "custom ground glass" into the camera. It'd be perfect.

yes, I like the idea of user uploaded Framelines using a 32-bit image...

Red Team: Is this a possibility in the first version? If not, we should concentrate on which built in modes will be included.
